TAYLOR RULED OUT

24 January 2014

Knee injury forces full-back out as Benning returns to action.

FULL-back, Andy Taylor, faces a couple of weeks on the sidelines following the knee injury that forced him out of the last game during the second half.

"Andy had an MRI scan earlier this week," revealed manager, Dean Smith. "He's teared a few fibres and it looks like a Grade 1, which will mean he will be missing for a couple of weeks.

"It's a shame because he has done really well and been part of a very solid back four.

"I know that Andy will be working extremely hard to get back to fitness, but what it does mean is that Mal Benning will get his opportunity back in the team.

"He's had to be patient, but he started the season really well and did well when he came on against Brentford both defensively and getting forward.

"Mal is an able replacement. He's a good footballer who has matured well and learned a lot."
