STATS THE WAY IT IS

4 January 2014

Positive stats from a positive year for The Saddlers...

THE FOOTBALL League has announced a series of statistics from the calendar year of 2013, and they make extremely positive reading for The Saddlers.

The past 12 months has been one of real progression for the club and this is reflected in the findings of the stats, which cover all three Football League divisions.

In terms of defeats, we sit pretty at the top of the Fewest Defeats table, with just nine League reverses from 44 matches played. We share top spot with Championship outfit, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leyton Orient.

We are also flying high in the Fewest Goals Conceded table, with just 38 goals conceded from those 44 games. Only Burnley and Chesterfield have conceded fewer goals (36).

As we sit joint 18th in the Most Goals Scored table, with 59 strikes to our name, it means that we find ourselves in joint sixth place in the Best Goal Difference table on +21.

Having taken 73 points during the year, at a rate of 1.66 points per game, we are seventh in the Most Points Won table. Only Leyton Orient and Brentford have taken more points in League One than us.

And finally, we are joint 12th in the Most Wins table with 19 successes to our name.

All in all it makes very good reading for the club and we congratulate everyone involved in making this happen.

Here’s hoping that there will be further reasons to be cheerful through the year ahead...
