BAKAYOKO RECOGNISED BY LFE

Young striker part of 'The 11' for December...

IN THE second instalment of League Football Education’s (LFE) new national competition, 11 talented teenage academy players have been named in ‘The 11’.

The competition recognises the football and academic progress of 11 apprentice players across the land, while also taking into account other factors such as involvement in charity or community-based initiatives and is judged by LFE’s team of regional officers.

The initiative was set-up in October to replace the Apprentice of the Month will run on two further occasions (February and May) during the 2013/14 season.

We are pleased to announce that Amadou Bakayoko has been selected in December’s 11, which is, as follows:

•    Oliver McBurnie (Bradford City)
•    Ryan Richefond (Crawley Town)
•    Sam Dryden (Derby County)
•    Matt Jay (Exeter City)
•    Brad Walker (Hartlepool United)
•    Joe Robinson (Ipswich Town).
•    Jordan Bove (Oldham Athletic)
•    Nathan Smith (Port Vale)
•    Joe Wildsmith (Sheffield Wednesday)
•    Amadou Bakayoko (Walsall)
•    Daniel Pearse (AFC Wimbledon)

LFE chief executive Alan Sykes said:  “This competition is directly associated with apprentice reviews that are conducted by our regional officer’s throughout the season and is a great way to highlight the achievements and progress of talented young footballers on the apprenticeship programme."
