TEAM TALK v MK DONS, 8/2/2014

Boss raring to get back into action...

HAVING seen last weekend's game fall victim of the weather, we are looking forward to getting back into action on Saturday as we take on MK Dons.

It was good to see both Andy Taylor and James Chambers back in training on Thursday as they look to return to action. It will give me the kind of selection headache that we want because Mal Benning and Ben Purkiss have come in and done really well.

Both Andy and James are determined to get back into the team and that is a credit to what we are doing here.

Last Saturday we trained at the stadium when we found out that the game was off and it's been back to our usual schedule this week as we prepare for the challenge that MK Dons will present to us.

Karl Robinson has done well in recent years and they have some quality in their ranks. I went to watch them last weekend and whilst they dominated possession, they lost to a late goal.

Losing the services of Patrick Bamford has been a big blow to them, but they have other threats that we will have to be wary of.

There is a lot of energy in their team and they will come here and try to play the game the right way.

We know that we will have to be at our best; we didn't deserve to lose at their place earlier in the season and another similarly tight contest is in prospect.

We go into the game with plenty of confidence and belief. We will continue doing the right things and work on the areas that need attention.

There are some big games coming up and we face the challenge with relish. It's about taking one game at a time and that is exactly what we intend to do, starting on Saturday.
