Only three games in the shortest month...

THE MONTH began with our scheduled game against Coventry City postponed due to a water-logged pitch at Sixfields Stadium.

Therefore our first action of February saw us play host to an MK Dons side who were starting to find some form and they put in an impressive display against a below-par Saddlers to run out 3-0 winners.

Our next encounter took us to Peterborough United on Valentine's Night.

There was certainly no love in the air on a wet and windy night as the game was played on a difficult pitch, particularly in the middle area which cut up badly as the game went on.

In the end, both teams battled hard and did their best to play whenever possible. The match, unsurprisingly, ended in a goalless stalemate.

Our third and final game of the month saw us entertain a Crawley Town side who had not been in action for a month due to the wet weather and had a massive seven games in hand over some clubs.

It was a disappointing start for The Saddlers as we conceded a penalty within the opening five minutes as Andy Butler was adjudged to have handled. Matt Tubbs converted on that occasion and despite Dean Smith's side getting a foot-hold on the game, he notched his second just after the restart.

The Saddlers refused to let our heads drop and after Sam Mantom pulled a goal back, we pushed for an equaliser but in the end it wasn't to be.
