DISAPPOINTING DAY

8 February 2014

Boss on home set-back...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 3-0 home reverse at the hands of MK Dons.

"We were very poor in the first half," he said. "The weather was bad, but we're not using that as an excuse; we were second best and deserved to be behind at the break.

"It was a harsh sending off. Yes, it was a penalty, but their lad was going away from goal and I don't feel that it warranted a red card.

"I thought that we played well in the second half. We had some good spells, but we had given ourselves a mountain to climb. You can't start like we did in the first half against anyone in this League.

"All in all it was a disappointing day. We've not had many performances like that, but when they do come around they are hard to take.

"It's a case of drawing a line under it and moving on to the next game."
