SADDLERS SLIP IN SNOW

26 December 2014

Home defeat in difficult conditions...

THE SADDLERS succumbed to a 4-1 Boxing Day home reverse at the hands of Swindon Town.

"A mad ten minute spell has cost us," said manager, Dean Smith. "They've countered us three times and scored three goals from it.

"I was pleased with us in the first half; Swindon started well but we came back into it and could have been in front at the break.

"The conditions in the second half were farcical and, whilst I don't want to make excuses, the game should really have been stopped.

"Swindon are a good team but we had a big helping hand in their goals. We know that we have to be better than that.

"It's always good to have another game so soon and it will be another tough one for us on Sunday as we go to MK Dons.

"They are flying high and scoring goals for fun. We know that we have to be better than today, but we are determined to prove that the ten-minute spell at the start of the second half was just a one-off."
