Winning recall for right-back...
JAMES O’Connor returned to the starting line-up at MK Dons and played his part in our 3-0 victory.
“Credit to the lads for the way in which they bounced back from the last game,” he said. “There is no question that MK Dons are a good side, but we did our homework on them.
“It was a brave performance as we tried to press high and create chances. They have scored a lot of goals recently, but we could have won by a bigger margin today such was the number of chances that we created.
“To keep a clean sheet was also fantastic and it gives us a platform on which to build now. If we can put a run together, anything can happen.
“We have to maintain these standards now and really push on.
“It’s been frustrating for me personally, but I am experienced enough to know that you have to react in the right way and be ready to step in when required.
“It’s important to be a positive presence around the place and keep the lads who are in the team on their toes. I feel that I have done that and now I want to show the Gaffer that I am worthy of keeping my place in the side.”
