Saddlers set for start of the season...
THE SADDLERS’ pre-season preparations draw to a close this week as we play host to Aston Villa on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.30pm).“This pre-season has brought a few more injuries than we have previously been used to,” admitted manager, Dean Smith. “But we have overcome the obstacles and I’m happy with where we’re at right now.
“It will be another good test for us against Aston Villa on Tuesday; it’s an opportunity for our players to come up against top-flight opposition in front of what will be a large and vocal crowd.
“With the season getting underway at the weekend, it will be an opportunity to get minutes into all of the available lads as we fine tune ahead of the trip to Port Vale.”
Admission to Tuesday’s game will be £12 (adults) and £6 (concessions) for all areas of the stadium. There will be a Matchday Programme on sale from the usual outlets at £2 per copy.
Saddlers Player will also have live coverage of the game.
A Walsall XI will travel to Chasetown on Wednesday evening. Kick-off is 7.30pm at The Scholars Ground.
