Boss reflects on set-back at Stevenage...
SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 3-2 defeat at Stevenage.
“Mistakes have cost us dear,” he said. “We were poor in the first half, but as bad as we were, we should have been ahead as we had the better chances.
“I felt that we started the second half well and got our rewards by going 2-1 up. At that stage I thought that we would go on to win the game comfortably but we have gifted them their
goals.
“We’ve bossed this game and come away with nothing. We’ve scored twice but should have had more.
“Individually and collectively we have to be better and we spoke immediately after the game about things.
“The first two-thirds of the season we have looked like a top six team but in the final third of the season, for whatever reason, it has not happened for us.
“The players out there today are the same ones who have beaten the top teams in this League earlier in the season and now we have to pick ourselves up to ensure that we finish with a win next weekend.”
