Loan man delighted with progress at Banks's Stadium...
-AS WE prepare for our penultimate game of the season at Stevenage, loanee, Milan Lalkovic, has heaped praise on the progress he has made here at Banks's Stadium.
The 21 year-old joined the club at the start of the season on loan from Chelsea in a deal that was extended during the course of the campaign following some exciting displays from the Slovakian Under-21 International.
"I would have maybe liked to have scored more goals, but I feel that I have progressed extremely well here," he said. "I enjoy the club and the training and being here has certainly helped me to develop.
"You learn a different type of game playing at first-team level. Every week in training and matches you have to perform in order to stay in the team.
"It toughens you up mentally and physically and I have learned that during this season.
"I have had a few loan spells previous to this one, but this has been the best, there is no doubt about that.
"The football we play here is good and the staff here are excellent. I think that it is a great place for reserve team players at clubs like Chelsea to come and learn about the game.
"League One is not easy; there are good teams and good players at this level and coming up against them each week has been tremendous for me.
"Our aim now is to end the season in a positive way and by that we have to get six points from these final two games. Our preparation for Stevenage has been good, as it always is, and we are looking forward to getting out there and trying to win the three points on offer.
"We know that we should have won the last game but couldn't turn our possession into the goals that were needed.
"Our fans have been superb this season both in the backing that they have given to the team and to me personally. Hopefully I can help to give them something to cheer about in these final games."
