Front-man vying for return to starting line-up...
WITH Craig Westcarr suspended at the weekend following his red card in the victory over Shrewsbury Town, there is a place up for grabs in the forward line for Saturday's trip to Port Vale. One of the players vying for an return to the starting line-up is Troy Hewitt, who figured for reserves in our victory over Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.
"It's a blow for Westy," admitted Hewitt. "But it gives the chance for someone else to come in and replace him.
"If that opportunity comes up for me then I would be delighted.
"Every footballer wants to be out there playing, so it's not easy when you're not in the team and having to watch from the sidelines. I know that I have to be ready to do a job when my next chance comes around and pick up from where I left off.
"I have the confidence in my ability; this is my first year of senior football and it's been good to be involved. There is something new in every game and its been a real learning experience for me.
"I know that I always have to be ready and prepared to step in. I've been working hard in training and the reserve game earlier in the week to prove that I can come in and do a job."
