Boss ready to get back into action...
WE HAD a rare weekend off last week and I took the decision to close the club down for a couple of days so that the players could rest and recharge their batteries after what has been a busy opening month of the season.For the lads that needed game time we had a behind-closed-doors training game against Aston Villa and also the reserves took on Wigan on Tuesday.
I now have a fully fit squad at my disposal; Shane Lewis has returned to light training following an ankle injury, but everyone is else fit and available.
The lads are now chomping at the bit and ready for the game at Crewe. It was a game last time we went there and I expect the same this time around; they did well last weekend against Peterborough and it shows how tough they can be on home soil.
We know that we are going to have to be at our best, but we have worked hard this week and can't wait to get out there and build on our second half performance at Wolves in our last game.
If we continue putting in good performances, the results will follow. We want to keep clean sheets and also play an attacking brand of football.
We've got a good crop of youngsters here; they are developing into the type of players that we want them to be. By showing patience we will get our rewards.
The backing that we have received from our supporters so far this season has been excellent and hopefully it will continue on Saturday as we bring home the result that we all crave.
