Best of career for Mantom...

THE SADDLERS’ midfield was in fine form once again at Wolves on Tuesday evening with Sam Mantom playing another key role.

“It was a massive result,” said the former West Bromwich Albion man. “It meant a lot to everyone connected to the club and I was delighted to be part of it.

“We looked the more dangerous side overall. It felt solid out there and the Gaffer was delighted with the way in which we kept out shape and worked hard.

“Having Adam Chambers and Nicky Featherstone alongside me gives us more stability in the middle of the park and makes us hard to break down.

“It worked wonders at Wolves and if we keep doing the right things and take our chances, we’ll get more victories like this.

“I would say that it is the best result of my career; I had a lot of friends and family at the game, so to go and beat Wolves on their own patch was fantastic.

“To a man we were all superb and put in one hell of a shift.”
