Smith on draw at League leaders...
SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, was proud of his team’s efforts as we became the first side to take points off Leyton Orient.
What’s more, we did it by playing the majority of the game with ten men after skipper, Andy Butler was dismissed with just 18 minutes on the clock.
“We were outstanding with and without the ball,” he said. “We had to regroup after the sending off, but to a man the lads worked hard and did their jobs.
“Even the most loyal Orient fan would have to admit that we were worthy of something out of the game.
“We were so disciplined off the ball and I am extremely proud of my players.
“I felt that we passed it well in the second half and created opportunities; we told the lads at half-time to be ready for chances and we took one of them to get something out of the game.
“At times we had to be solid but we used the ball intelligently.
“This is a tough League and our last three games have paired us with previously unbeaten sides, so to come through that unbeaten ourselves in very encouraging.
“The lads stuck together, worked hard and put in a thoroughly professional performance.”
