Smith on away win...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was beaming from ear to ear after our 3-0 victory at Crewe Alexandra.

"I was really pleased with today," he said. "It was a professional performance and I am delighted with the way in which we secured the three points.

"There were some excellent performances all over the pitch; we watched them last weekend and saw how well they counter-attacked, so we changed our shape to deal with it and counteracted them superbly well.

"We had plenty of possession in the first half and controlled the ball well without being potent enough. We spoke at half-time and the first goal was pivotal as it gave us belief and something to build on.

"We have players here with plenty of energy who can break quickly and it served us well. The pressing in the lead up to the penalty was fantastic.

"The lads are giving me everything and their efforts cannot be faulted. We have strength in depth here with everyone working hard and now we look forward to the next challenge on Tuesday at Wolves."
