Winning run continues for youth team...
THE SADDLERS' youth team won for the fourth game in a row as they secured a hard-earned 2-0 victory over Macclesfield Town."It was a very hard-fought game between two well-organised teams," admitted Academy Manager, Neil Woods. "We played some decent football during then first half but found our opponents difficult to break down.
"It was goalless at the break, but we managed to finally get our reward 25 minutes into the second period when Luke Delaney did well in the build-up as Amadou Bakayoko added another goal to his tally.
"Even after that we struggled to create clear-cut chances and you have to credit Macclesfield for their organisation.
"After battling and fighting well, Tevin Shakespeare carved out an opening for Wes Rush to volley home and double our advantage.
"It was a pleasing performance in a different way to usual. We showed character, composure and were patient; we kept doing the right things to eventually get our reward.
"I would say that it was a gutsy display and I was delighted to see us get the three points in that style as it shows another aspect to our game."
