WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

3 October 2013

The Kaleidoscope+ Group with us on Saturday...

A STAGGERING one in four of us will suffer from mental ill health at some point in our lives, so to help raise awareness of World Mental Health Day, Walsall FC have teamed up with health and wellbeing charity, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, once again.

The West Midlands-based charity support and promote positive mental health and wellbeing across  Walsall and the Black Country,  offering a wide range of services including one-to-one support, counselling, therapies, workshops and residential services.

Volunteers and staff from the charity will be in and around the stadium on Saturday to kick-off their World Mental Health Day promotional programme of events ahead of the official day, which is on Thursday, October 10th.

The day is aimed at promoting discussion of mental illness, treatment and services and to help towards combatting the stigma attached to openly discussing mental illness.

To help remove the stigma attached to mental ill health, the charity has also launched a Purple Card campaign, so please take a card before Saturday's game to show your support.

Other exciting events planned by The Kaleidoscope Plus Group will see the charity running a host of activities and competitions across their social media platforms throughout the week, including a campaign to get up to a 1,000 followers on Twitter @Kaleidoscope_PG and 200 Likes on Facebook - www.facebook.com/TheKaleidoscopePlusGroup

If you would like to know more about the services The Kaleidoscope Plus Group offers, you can contact them on 0121-565 5605 or visit the website at www.kaleidoscopeplus.org.uk

The Saddlers’ players will be warming up in t-shirts promoting this initiative ahead of Saturday's game, as we did last year.
