Goalless draw for youth team...

THE SADDLERS' youth team shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Wrexham.

"On a heavy pitch, we started quite brightly," said Academy Manager, Neil Woods. "We were unlucky early on when Rico Henry and Luke Delaney combined well for the latter to rattle the bar.

"We had countless chances after that without playing to the level of recent weeks.

"At half-time I wanted to see the lads continue what they were doing into the second half, but credit to our hosts, they were the better side after the break.

"That said, we hit the woodwork for a second time through Amadou Bakayoko and created several decent opportunities.

"We rode our luck at times, though, particularly in the closing stages of the game.

"Overall I was disappointed with our standards over the 90 minutes as a whole; there were some good parts, but not as many as in recent weeks. You have to give our hosts some credit for this as they were well-organised and worked hard.

WALSALL: Jones, Ashmore, Probert (A. Reid), Kinsella, K. Rowley, Christopherou (R. Reid), Delaney (Dallison), Bakayoko, Rush, Henry. Subs not used: Lovett, Garner.

* First-year professional, Jake Heath, has extended his loan spell at Conference North outfit, Leamington.
