Boss on excellent win...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, was a happy man after seeing his side end Swindon Town's unbeaten home record with a convincing 3-1 win.

"I've watched Swindon a few times and they are a very good team," he said. "But to a man we were magnificent. The lads carried out our game plan and tactics to the letter.

"The performance was fantastic; their 'keeper made some great saves and we also hit the woodwork. The aspect that most impressed me was our discipline. It was important that we kept our shape and everyone worked hard for each other, which is exactly what we did.

"It was important that we started the second half well and there was no better way than going 2-0 up so early on. That extends our unbeaten run now and adds to our confidence and belief.

"You can talk about tactics all day but the players have to go out there and carry it out, and they certainly did that for me tonight.

"I am blessed with players here who want to improve. We'll take it one game at a time, though, and now we have to make sure that we are at our best again for Saturday."
