SMITH ON HOME WIN

Boss reflects on victory over Stevenage...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, was a happy man after seeing his side overcome the challenge of Stevenage to secure a 2-1 home win.

It was a really good performance," he said. "We played some great stuff and could have been further ahead.

"Unfortunately a mistake let them back into a game that they should have been well out of, but I was pleased that the lads were able to see it out.

"I felt that we needed to free someone up behind the front-man today and I knew that we would find little pockets, hence the reason that I brought Romaine Sawyers into the starting line-up in place of Nicky Featherstone.

"Romaine did really well as did Craig Westcarr whose movement was excellent and it was nice to see them both get their names onto the scoresheet.

"We opened them up a few times today with our play and it was nice to get three points in front of our own supporters, which is what we wanted.

"Now we get ready for a tough trip on Tuesday. I watched Swindon beat Notts County on Friday night and they played some good football.

"They are a team in form and as such it will be a test for us, but one that we are looking forward to."
