Boss on draw at Colchester...

SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 1-1 draw at Colchester United where a last-gasp free-kick from Andy Taylor gave us a share of the spoils from a game that we dominated.

“We were excellent today,” he said. “We deserved something today and I was pleased with our performance and the way that we stuck to our task.

“Their goal came out of nothing, but we kept at it to get our reward.

“We knew it would be a footballing encounter with both teams looking to get the ball down and move it quickly.

“Possession-wise we were well on top and it was a great goal from Andy Taylor right at the death.

“We hit the post, hit the bar, had numerous corners and saw them get in blocks. Good fortune comes to those who work hard and we kept working right up to the very last whistle.

“It was another good performance from us.”
