HEMMINGS BUZZING

23 October 2013

Ashley on his brace at Swindon...

ASHLEY Hemmings weighed in with two goals and an excellent performance to help The Saddlers march to victory at Swindon Town.

"It was a great team performance," he said with a broad smile. "We worked hard for each other and it felt comfortable for much of the game.

"Everyone is buzzing. I'm delighted with my goals; the first came out to me and straight away my only thought was to hit it, then the second was a great team goal.

"I could have had a hat-trick in the end, but I'll take the two and, more importantly, the three points against a side that have done really well so far this season and were previously unbeaten at home.

"As a team we want to get the ball down and play football whilst at the same time work hard for each other. I felt that whenever they had the ball, we were organised and ready to win it back.

"We pressed well and did our jobs. We've got a strong team here and if we continue playing as we are, we'll be right up there.

"The fans have been amazing all season and as players, we buzz off it. I'm focussed on doing well for the team and now I can't wait for the next game to come around.

"It'll be an interesting one against Coventry; both teams play good football and there is sure to be an excellent atmosphere, so we are well up for it."
