WESTCARR ON THE GOAL TRAIL

27 November 2013

Front-man plots more goals...

CRAIG Westcarr weighed in with his seventh League goal of the season to bring home a share of the spoils from Sheffield United.

The front-man latched onto a delicious cross from the right by James Baxendale early in the second half to level matters after the home side had taken the lead with a penalty in stoppage time at the end of the opening period.

"It was a great ball in from Bax," he said. "Thankfully I was able to get on the end of it to level the scores.

"Looking back, it was one of the those games where both sides cancelled each other out.

"We came back well from going a goal down late in the first half; we looked solid and organised and I felt that we could go on and win the game.

"We're not an easy team to break down. The back four have been superb and as a front-man I am happy to know that the team is solid behind me.

"Had we scored first, I've no doubt that we would have gone on and won the game."

Westcarr is happy with his goal haul so far. "It's a case of so far, so good but I want more," he went on. "If we can continue pushing on as a team, the results and, hopefully, goals will continue to come.

"Personally I am pleased to be playing down the middle now and feel confident in my ability to score goals."
