LALKOVIC IN FINE FORM

20 November 2013

On-loan man showing his style...

HAVING put in impressive performances in our last two games, Milan Lalkovic, is in a rich vein of form.

The on-loan Chelsea man took the Man of the Match honours in Monday evening's superb victory over Peterborough United as he scored the opener, set up the second goal and generally ran The Posh ragged.

"It was a good, important win for us," he said with a broad smile. "As a team we played very well and I was happy to perform and play my part in it.

"We are doing well as a team; we are trying to play as much football as we can whilst getting at our opponents as often as possible and reacting when we lose the ball."

Lalkovic opened the scoring when he latched onto a neat touch from Romaine Sawyers and returned the favour after the break when had made the assist for our second goal.

"I am building up a good understanding with Romaine," he added. "I have been working hard on making those kind of runs and it is nice to see it pay off.

"Personally I feel that I have done well in the past couple of games, but at the same time I know that I have to keep my performance levels high to stay in the team.

"It's still early days in the season, but we have already beaten some strong teams.

"We have a good set-up here with good players and good coaches - everything is geared up for us to do well and perform."
