Westcarr hits goal number eight of the season so far...
CRAIG Westcarr fired in his seventh and eighth goals of the season at the weekend to help us ease past Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.The front-man has been in a rich vein of form so far this term as he leads The Saddlers' scoring charts.
"I'm very pleased with the way things are going," he said. "I was happy to see us progress into the next round of the FA Cup in our last game and to get a couple of goals was a nice bonus.
"The lads all played their part; we help each other out and know what we are capable of.
"I just want to keep playing well, scoring goals and helping the team. It's always pleasing to score and make goals, that's my job.
"We knew going into the start of the season what we can do as a team and we have showed that so far. Hopefully this can continue in the games that lie ahead.
"The Gaffer and Richard O'Kelly have got a good philosophy here and have brought in the players that can carry it out. I enjoy being part of it but I know that I have to go out there an prove myself every week. I want to maintain high standards and do as well as I can.
"We work so hard in training and it's nice when it all comes together as it did against Shrewsbury. Everyone involved deserves great credit and now the focus turns to the challenge that Peterborough will present to us."
