Wide-man looking forward to FA Cup clash...

ASHLEY Hemmings is looking forward to Saturday's FA Cup with Budweiser first round tie against Shrewsbury Town.

"The FA Cup is a special competition," he said. "It gives teams from the lower Leagues the chance to come to the fore and make their mark on a bigger stage.

"Hopefully we can have a good run this year. We've certainly been playing some good football and if we keep doing the right things, we'll give ourselves every chance of progressing into the later rounds.

"It would be nice to test ourselves against higher level opposition, but before we can start thinking about that, we have to focus on getting past Shrewsbury first.

"It's a local derby and there is sure to be a good atmosphere, so it has all the ingredients to be a good game. We'll give it our best and see where it takes us.

"If we continue to believe in ourselves and focus on the positives, then the wins will follow. This is an exciting team to be part of; there's a great atmosphere amongst the group and we have some really good players here.

"It's about staying sharp and maintaining high standards in order to stay in the team.

"These are the type of games that you want to be involved in and we're looking forward to showing what we can do and hopefully getting into that second round draw."
