CHAMBERS EXCITED BY DONS TRIP

Right-back looking forward to first stadium:mk outing...

JAMES Chambers is looking forward to what will be his first outing at stadium:mk as The Saddlers prepare to lock horns with MK Dons at the weekend.

The experienced right-back missed our superb 4-2 Boxing Day victory last term. "I've never played at stadium:mk before," he said. "I know that last year we played really well there and I believe that it has been something of a happy hunting ground for the club over the years.

"It's going to be a tough game, though. In fact, you look at the games we've got coming up this month and they are all against teams you would expect to be up there challenging.

"That said, there are some of the so-called bigger club struggling near the bottom, so it just shows what a competitive League this is.

"We've got a good group here and we have showed what we are capable of with some excellent results on our travels already this season.

"We know that if we perform to the best of our ability we are more than a match for anyone at this level. Everyone currently in the team is getting pushed for their place. For me it is a good thing to have that competitive nature as it keeps us on our toes.

"Of course, everyone wants to be in the starting line-up, but there are only 11 places available and the lads not in the team have to be ready to step in when required.

"It's a team game and we have a fantastic spirit here, with everyone working together, which is serving us well."
