Smith on set-back at MK Dons...

SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 1-0 defeat at MK Dons.

“It was a nothing game,” he said. “It didn’t look like going anywhere until a key decision for their goal changed the course of the match.

“We got fire in our belly after the goal and were on top for the final 25 minutes, where we showed more of what we are about going forward.

“To be fair, neither team got it going today; both teams huffed and puffed and in the end, incidents that we can’t control changed the course of the game.

“I didn’t feel that it was a foul for their free-kick which led to the winning goal. The lad turned into Adam Chambers and then Andy Butler heads in a goal which is ruled out for a foul, when it should have been a foul the other way if anything.

“We should have got something out of the game. We’ve come to a good side and never looked in any real danger.

“There are positives, which we will take into our next game and be ready to go again.”

Adam Chambers had four stitches in a head wound.
