Smith reflects on Bramall Lane trip...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.

"It was a decent point," he said. "That said, we didn't reach the standards that we have set ourselves and that we know we are capable of.

"The penalty decision for their goal was harsh; maybe they should have had one shortly before but two wrongs don't make a right.

"Both teams struggled a bit, to be fair, so a draw was probably a fair result. We know that we weren't at our fluent best and can move the ball quicker, but this is a difficult place to come and to be disappointed with a draw shows how far we have come as a team.

"Clear-cut chances were few and far between. It was a midfield battle out there; I was pleased by the reaction of our players to going a goal down. Our equaliser was well-worked and a great finish by Craig Westcarr from an excellent cross from James Baxendale."
