Smith on fine win...

THE SADDLERS put on an impressive display in front of the live television cameras with a richly-deserved 2-0 victory over Peterborough United.

"I was really pleased with how we controlled possession and managed the game," he said. "Our players were well on top this evening and it was a deserved win.

"We created some good chances and, as a team, restricted them to only a few opportunities.

"Peterborough are a good team and to beat them is excellent. The first goal was important; it was a great run and strike by Milan Lalkovic and then the second was also really well worked.

"These young footballers are starting to show consistency now. It was our aim at the start of the season to be competitive in every game and so far, with the exception of Preston North End, we have done that.

"We had beaten some fancied sides and if we play like that, we will be a match for anyone at this level."
