125th Anniversary game to take place on July 31st...

THE SADDLERS will play host to Premier League neighbours, Aston Villa, in a pre-season friendly to mark our 125th Anniversary.

The game will take place here at Banks's Stadium on Wednesday, July 31st.

It was The Villains who provided our first-ever opposition on April 9th 1888 following the amalgamation of Walsall Town and Walsall Swifts.

That game, in the Final of the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Charity Cup, was played at Perry Barr and ended goalless with bad light meaning that it wasn't possible to complete extra-time.

Villa also provided the opposition for the official opening of Bescot Stadium on August 18th 1990.

Admission prices for this game have been set at £12 (adults) and £6 (concessions). Disabled supporters' cost is the relevant price band with a carer free of charge.

Matchday Packages for this game will be priced at £35 (adults) and £17.50 (juniors under-14). The Package will include car parking, Matchday Programme, centre stand match ticket, three-course pre-match carvery meal and half-time refreshments.

Please note that visiting supporters will be accommodated in the away stand behind the goal and also the Five Rivers Family Stand for this game.

Season-ticket holders have until Friday, July 26th to claim their seats.

Tickets are now on sale from the Banks's Stadium Ticket Office, or by telephone, on 01922-651 414/416.
