TEAM TALK v HARTLEPOOL, 23/3/13

22 March 2013

Boss ready for north-east trip...

IT'LL be another tough game, there is no question about that. Everyone can beat each other in this League and we're expecting a tough battle.

Their manager, John Hughes, won the Manager of the Month award for February and whilst their recent results haven't been great, it's always a difficult place to go.

That said, if we play the sort of football we have been and reach the standards that I know we are capable of, we should be okay.

We go into the game with the momentum from our late comeback against Crawley Town. The lads displayed outstanding character to take a point against a good side.

All we can do is control what we do. There are a lot of other teams taking points off each other and that will continue in the weeks ahead.

The most important game is always the next one. We don't want to look too far ahead of Saturday and bringing home three points from Victoria Park.

I was disappointed to see Aaron McCarey recalled by Wolves at the start of the week, but he has been replaced by a very able lad in Sam Johnstone who has come in on loan for the rest of the season from Manchester United.

He's played at this level before and is extremely highly-rated at Old Trafford. I have no qualms about bringing him in as I have received some very good reports on him and watched him in action myself recently.
