SMITH PLEASED WITH CHARACTER

16 March 2013

Boss on dramatic draw...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith has reflected upon our home draw with Crawley Town as we came from two goals down in the final minute to secure a deserved share of the spoils.

"We fully deserved to take something out of the game," he said. "I am really pleased with the character to get the two late goals and we could have even nicked it at the end.

"I was wondering how we we were two goals down. We had the better chances during the first half, but Crawley are a dangerous team with good players.

"There were some tired legs out there and the pitch didn't allow us to be at our fluent best. This point could prove very important come the end of the season.

"Our tempo wasn't as good as it could have been during the opening period. Neither team did enough to get bums off seats, but it just shows what a tough team we are to play against and beat.

"The lads are working hard for each other and displaying a never-say-die attitude. We've got some good players here and at two goals down with only a couple of minutes to go it would have been easy to accept defeat, but the lads refused to do that and we got our reward in the end.

"There is still a lot to play for with some tough games coming up, but we are enjoying it and no-one will relish facing us at the moment."
