SMITH ON STALEMATE

Boss reflects on draw at Hartlepool...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith has reflected upon our goalless draw at a wind-swept Hartlepool United.

"The wind certainly played a big part in the game," he said. "It was a scrappy affair and it was the conditions that won in the end.

"I felt that this was an opportunity for us and I am disappointed that we couldn't take it in terms of getting three points on the board.

"We didn't make the right decisions at times and our final ball was lacking, which cost us.

"They are fighting for their lives so we knew it was always going to be tough coming here. We weren't at the races and it was one of those days, but it's another point to our tally and a point away from home.

"The conditions beat both sides, but with six games to go and 18 points up for grabs, we will keep battling on.

"We're enjoying it and to be ten games undefeated in this League is no mean feat."

The manager revealed that he is hopeful of having Will Grigg back in action for Friday's game at Yeovil, whilst James Chambers went off with a groin problem and will be assessed on Sunday.
