11 March 2013

M6 spectacular digital banner deal agreed with Elonex - great news for the club and West Midlands business...

WALSALL Football Club have today announced a partnership deal with Birmingham-based technology company, Elonex.

The arrangement will enable the M6 Spectacular Banner site at Banks’s Stadium to be converted into an LED Screen using the latest technology in a move the Club believe will provide a major stimulus for the Walsall and West Midlands economy.

Saddlers' Commercial Director, Roy Whalley, hailed the link with Elonex as being great news for the club and local area. "We will be working with a Birmingham-based business, the components will be assembled in the West Midlands and installed by local contractors," he said. "The new digital signage will provide a terrific advertising platform, and we shall be offering special rates to companies, organisations and public bodies in the Walsall and West Midlands area to make sure this region benefits from exposure to the 100 million plus annual travellers along this stretch of the M6 Motorway."

Elonex Chief Executive Officer, Nick Smith, expressed his optimism about the joint venture With Walsall FC. "As a Midlands-based company that operates on an International scale, we will bring a great deal of experience and expertise to this project," he added. "This is a superb advertising location, at the hub of the UK’S motorway network, and along with Walsall FC we are going to provide an opportunity for Walsall and the West Midlands to promote itself to a national and international audience.

"It is a very exciting project and the £2m investment that we are making in the signage will be a credit to the Midlands Business Community."
