Local trip for Saddlers...
THE DRAW for the first round of the Capital One Cup has handed The Saddlers an away tie at newly-promoted League One outfit, Port Vale."It will be a tough game," said manager, Dean Smith, who served The Valiants at the end of his playing career. "It's a local game so there should be a decent crowd and atmosphere.
"They did well last season, so it will be a chance for us to see what they are like before our two League games against them.
"Whilst you always want to be drawn at home, it's not too far to travel and we will be looking upon it as a chance to progress in the competition, something that Micky Adams will also be thinking, so it should be a good battle."
The tie will be played in the week commencing August 5th 2013. Confirmation of the date and admission details will appear here as soon as we have them.
