ADAM LOOKING TO BUILD

11 June 2013

Midfield man keen to continue progress...

HAVING signed a new two-year deal at the club, Adam Chambers, is looking to build on the progress that is being made.

The talented midfielder enjoyed a solid campaign last term, which ended with him finishing as runner-up in the Player of the Season award amidst strong competition.

"I thought that I did okay last season, but it was all about the team and as a group we did really well," he said. "We showed that we are heading in the right direction and the main thing is that we can take that on now.

"The club is making real progress and we've got the continuity this year with so many players already signed up. In previous years we've seen a big turn-around in players, which doesn't help with preparations, but the nucleus is already in place and that will bode well as we look to build further.

"The return of Richard O'Kelly will also be key. He works really well with the Gaffer and they both know exactly what we're about and how to get the best out of each of us. I really enjoy working with them and the rest of the lads will agree."

With the ink still wet on his contract, Chambers headed off on a well-deserved holiday to recharge the batteries before the serious business begins.

"There are some big games to look forward to," he added. "It's going to be a competitive League with some decent teams but we proved what we are capable of last year and I am excited by the challenge that lies ahead.

"It's good that I've got the deal sorted and now I can go away for a break before returning refreshed and ready to tackle pre-season."
