LALKOVIC LOOKING FORWARD

New loan signing excited by the challenge that lies ahead at Banks's Stadium...

MILAN Lalkovic made a good impression on his Saddlers' debut at Alfreton Town on Tuesday evening.

The 20 year-old, who has joined the club on loan from Chelsea until January, showed some nice touches and weighed in with a fine goal just before the break on our way to a 6-0 win.

"I am always happy to score," smiled the Slovakia Under-21 International. "It was good to get some minutes under my belt and I really enjoyed it out there.

"This is a great opportunity for me to come and play mens football at a high level. It will be a challenge, but one that I am very much looking forward to.

"From what I have seen so far, there are some talented players here and the performance that we put in on Tuesday evening only makes me more excited for the season to start."

So what can The Saddlers expect from a player who has emerged through the ranks at Stamford Bridge and is predicted to have a bright future ahead of him?

"I will bring a lot of pace, movement and trickery," he added. "I enjoy playing football and to be in an environment where I feel wanted will help to bring the best out of me.

"I don't know too much about League One, but I am expecting it to be physical. I am confident that I can handle that and do well for the club and myself.

"The facilities here are very good and it will be a good experience to play my first game at Banks's Stadium on Saturday.

"I have targets in mind but I prefer to keep them to myself as I don't want to add any pressure. I just want to go out there and express myself, something that the manager encourages the players to do."
