Smith bursting with pride...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was bursting with pride following our excellent victory over AFC Bournemouth which made it six wins out of the last seven games.

"This is a really good day for the football club," he said. "It was a fantastic effort by all concerned to get the game on and thankfully they have been rewarded with the victory and three points.

"It took a lot of effort to get this game on and our performance matched that.

"We were fantastic in the first half; I wanted us to start well and we did that. I was really pleased with the players' response to conceding a goal early in the second period an in the end our general play fully deserved the win.

"It was one of the best results of my managerial career because of the run AFC Bournemouth have been on. They have good players, plenty of fire power and spending power. They are a strong team and to beat them twice this season is tremendous.

"There were some outstanding performances out there and now our focus turns to the next game and maintaining those standards."
