Skipper smiling...
SKIPPER, Andy Butler has insisted that sticking to our beliefs has been a key factor in our recent upturn in results. With six wins from the last seven games, we travel to Colchester sitting within the top ten of the League One table.
"Fair play to the Gaffer, he's not changed his beliefs or the way we do things and now we're reaping the rewards," he said. "If you believe something is right then you have to stick to it no matter what and that has certainly been the case here.
"Recent results have been good and we want that to continue. For me, the form of the likes of Will Grigg and Adam Chambers has been massive for us. It's a pleasure to play alongside them; Grigg occupies two or three defenders and Chambo will tackle anything that moves!
"Their form has meant that others have also been able to prosper. I also feel that Paul Downing has come into the side and done well. Having Dean Holden waiting in the wings and pushing us is a big help. We work as a team and back each other up and that is how it should be.
"We go to Colchester in upbeat mood. We know it will be a tough game; they have brought a few players in on loan but we'll be ready for them and determined to extend our current run.
"They'll be eager for a result and we know that their winless run has to end some time, as ours did against them just before Christmas. But we know what we have to do and the standards we have to reach.
"There is plenty for us to be encouraged about; we're playing with smiles on our faces and enjoying our football at the moment and long may it continue."
