BUTLER DRAWS A LINE

29 January 2013

Skipper vows to react the right way following first defeat of 2013...

SADDLERS' skipper, Andy Butler has already drawn a line under Saturday's first defeat of 2013 at Colchester and is now looking forward to the challenge that Oldham Athletic, FA Cup conquerors of Liverpool, will present.

"It was always going to be a tight game and on a sticky pitch it had draw written all over it," he said of our trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium. "Unfortunately they were able to snatch two late goals to take the points.

"We had a lot of possession, particularly in the first half, but we were unable to capitalise on it and although we huffed and puffed, it wasn't to be our day.

"Colchester is not a happy hunting ground for me; I was sent off there last season and now this! We'll draw a line under it and the important thing now is how we react to this. There is nothing for us to get too downbeat about; we'll just look to bounce back with a win in the next game.

"It was our first defeat of 2013, we'll learn from it and hopefully get three points against an Oldham side who did superbly well to beat Liverpool on Sunday and will come here on a real high."
