WOODS ON SHAKERS' SET-BACK

5 February 2013

Plenty of positives for Woods...

DESPITE going down to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bury in the Central League Regional Division, Academy Manager, Neil Woods took plenty of positives out of the game.

"It was a very one-sided 2-0 defeat," he said afterwards. "I felt that we were outstanding in the first half and with a bit more composure and that element of luck, we could have easily gone in at the break four or five goals to the good.

"Bury defended resolutely to keep us at bay, but I felt that our quality with and without the ball was very good.

"We continued to create chances after the break but they broke away and won a penalty to get their noses in front. We continued to press but were caught out again near the end with a sloppy goal.

"There were plenty of positives to take out of the game and it gave our young professionals some valuable game time."
