Boss enjoying the good times...

THIS is a really good time for the club. Not only is the first-team doing well, but the youth team is making good progress in the League and Cup competitions and the reserves have made it to the Final of the Walsall Senior Cup.

All of our teams are playing the same style with everyone knowing their jobs and looking well organised, so it is encouraging for the future development of the club.

Looking ahead to Saturday's game against Shrewsbury Town, it will be an interesting game with all the ingredients needed to make it an entertaining local derby. There is sure to be a good atmosphere within the stadium to add to the occasion.

We will give them the respect that they deserve. There are certainly some appealing fixtures coming up at home that we are looking forward to and this is very much one of them.

The supporters have been excellent and have always been behind us; they want to see winning football and we are delivering at the moment. With a good following expected from Shrewsbury it will raise the atmosphere an extra notch.

Having had two long away trips, it will be good to be back on home soil as we attempt to increase our unbeaten run.

There is a different kind of pressure on us now, having been fighting to get to the 50-point mark in each of the last two seasons. It is something that we will thrive upon as we continue to work hard and stay professional and focussed.
