TAYLS WE WIN

Full-back buzzing...

THE SADDLERS brought home three excellent points from high-flying Doncaster Rovers at the weekend with full-back, Andy Taylor, putting in another reliable and assured display.

"To go to the team second in the League and turn them over is excellent," he said. "We're buzzing, to be honest. It's been a roller-coaster season so far, but even when we were on a bad run, we always knew that we would turn things around and so it is has proved.

"We've always had a confidence in our own ability and on our day we feel that we can beat any team in this League.

"When you go to places like Doncaster, you expect the home team to have spells on top, but we kept it tight when we had to and worked extremely hard. I felt that we controlled the game for a lot of the second half and were worthy winners in the end.

"As I say, the lads have always been confident and had the mentality of looking up rather than down. We've not felt any pressure, but even though we're in great form at the moment, we're just taking it one game at a time.

"We've put ourselves in a good position and hopefully we can build on it."

Part of that building process has seen a number of players - Taylor included - commit to new longer-term deals at the club. "It's important to look towards next season as well," he added. "A few of us have signed up already and it gives us stability to concentrate on our football and push on.

"If we keep doing the right things, it is exciting to see where it will take us as we have some talented players here."
