SMITH ON STALEMATE

Boss on Bees draw...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was pleased to see his side keep a clean sheet at Brentford as we battled out a point from a goalless draw.

"We had to weather a storm in the first half, but we put them under pressure too," he said. "Then after the break we played higher up the pitch and saw more of the ball.

"It was always going to be tough, but we didn't sit back and it was another point to our tally and a clean sheet, which we've got to be pleased about.

"We defended really well and looked lively going forward. It was a fair result today; we were very organised and the players know how to see games like this through.

"It was a lively pitch out there, but we had spells of good play and caused them problems.

"There were plenty of positives to come out of the game and it was nice to see Ben George come in and give a good account of himself on his debut.

"The players are displaying professionalism in abundance right now and already our attention has turned to the task in hand on Tuesday evening at Carlisle."
