McCAREY RETURNS

21 February 2013

Young 'keeper back at Banks's Stadium...

EMERGING goalkeeper, Aaron McCarey, has returned to The Saddlers on loan from neighbours, Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 International made his League debut during an eight-game loan spell here at Banks’s Stadium in November and December, where his displays belied his tender years.

The 21 year-old has been at Molineux since November 2009, joining the club on a permanent basis in January 2010 from Monaghan United in his homeland.

Impressing for the Wolves reserves and during a loan spell with AFC Telford, he made a smooth transition into League One action and is now looking forward to getting more games under his belt.

“Whilst I was disappointed to see Ian McLoughlin recalled by MK Dons, I had no qualms in bringing Aaron back here,” said manager, Dean Smith. “He had a really good spell with us just before Christmas and showed us what he is all about.

“I’m only too happy to have him back here and I am delighted that Wolves have allowed us to keep him for the remainder of the season.

“He will compete with David Grof and is a welcome addition to our squad.”

McCarey will wear the number 32 shirt and stands by to figure in our game at Brentford on Saturday.

Look out for an interview with him here on www.saddlers.co.uk later today...
