GRIGG IN A GOOD PLACE

26 February 2013

Front-man thriving...

FRONT-man, Will Grigg knows that The Saddlers' battling qualities and team spirit will be key ingredients as we look to continue our impressive recent form.

"We've proved that if we battle as a team, we will get the rewards," said the Northern Ireland International. "We did it on Saturday as we came home from a tough place with a point.

"The Gaffer gives us a lot of freedom to go forward and there is plenty of attacking quality in our team. As well as that, we have also got a solid back four, which gives us a base to build from.

"It means that we always have a chance and to go to a team like Brentford and keep a clean sheet and cause them problems, shows what we are capable of."

Grigg has 11 goals to his name so far, so how many does he feel he can get this term?

"I'm capable of getting 15 or 16," he added. "But I just want to take each game as it comes and see where it takes me. As a team we're certainly going into games in confident mood and enjoying it.

"There's a great atmosphere around the place and that comes across on the pitch too."

This evening we travel to Carlisle United, a team who came from behind to snatch a late winner earlier in the season.

"It would be nice to go there and get a result to avenge that home defeat," he said. "We still remember that one; we didn't deserve to lose but at that particular time we were conceding a lot of late goals.

"We're a different team now and we've proved that we are able to push on in the latter stages of games.

"Everyone is playing with no pressure and hopefully we can continue to do that."
