Hat-trick hero on Cloud Nine...
WILL Grigg left Brunton Park on Tuesday evening clutching the match ball having netted his first senior hat-trick in our 3-0 victory over Carlisle United."It's been coming for a while," he said with a wry smile. "To finally get my first hat-trick is a nice feeling.
"The lads were absolutely brilliant. Defensively we were solid and in the end we could have easily won by five or six.
"I'm feeling really confident at the moment, so it was good to see the goals go in. It did start to feel like the second would never come, but we stuck at it and got our rewards at the end to bring home three good points.
"We did our homework on Carlisle and knew that if we ran at them and used the pace of the likes of Paty and Febian it would cause them problems.
"I know it keeps being said, but we need to just take it one game at a time and see where it takes us."
As for the match ball...
"The referee gave it to me at the end," he added. "I got the lads to sign it on the way home and it will be a nice momento for me to keep."
