In celebration of Walsall FC's 125th Anniversary...

AN EARLY Day Motion was put down in Parliament today by Valerie Vaz MP to celebrate Walsall FC's 125th Anniversary. 

That this House celebrates the 125th anniversary of Walsall Football Club in the West Midlands; recognises that the club has acted as a uniting force in the local community since it was established in 1888 after two teams merged to form the Walsall Town Swifts; praises the dedication of The Saddlers, Walsall FC's supporters; notes the importance of the supporters as a crucial part of the club's rich history and its continuing success; further celebrates the current success of Walsall FC in 9th place in League One; wishes the club continuing success in the League; further notes that Walsall FC plays a significant role locally through its community programme; and further notes the importance of such bodies in developing potential and encouraging young people to play sport.
